As yogurt and cheese have a lower amount of lactose, it may not be necessary to exclude these foods from the diet. In addition, there are milk products on the market that have been processed industrially, which does not have lactose in the composition and can therefore be consumed by people intolerant to this sugar.
When is the diagnosis of lactose intolerance, you should exclude milk, yogurt and cheese for 3 months and then try eating yogurt, for example, and see if appears some symptom of lactose intolerance like diarrhea, distended belly, or abdominal pain. If you don’t see any symptom that is because the yogurt can be consumed. This test can also be done with the cheese.
